Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

DIGITAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN

Promoting the arrival of “The Secrets of Dumbledore” of the HBO Max platform to draw in new subscribers. I worked on the campaign from initial concepts to final designs of nearly 100 assets - banner ads, social posts, ads with streaming partners, etc.

To add to the challenge, the properties in this series of movies require more legal lines and partnership logos than most. Combining those with character-laden key art while maintaining legibility and hierarchy across all asset sizes required some design magic.

PENSIEVE EXPLORATION

One concept for the mid-funnel assets driving fans familiar with the Harry Potter franchise highlighted the pensieve, which plays a key role in The Secrets of Dumbledore. I combined elements from character key art, screen grabs, and stock imagery to create an image of the pensieve retrieving a memory of the two main characters of the film.

This art was then given to a motion graphics designer to animate the pensieve, mimicking the films so that fans would clearly recognize the device. In the end, the idea was scrapped in favor of more straightforward character key art.
